Introduction.
After the Incarnation of Jesus, Mary and Joseph hd a number of other children. Two of those children were called. James and Jude and James were borm. More is known about his background than Jude. And yet, Jude. Was chosen. Deserve. In. Churches. Where he had a more senior position. And. I was one of the key leaders. In various works. He made. A decision. At a stage in ministry. To write a particular letter.
Jude's Letter.
He wrtes his letter. Specifically. To believers His letter. Portrays to us. The idea that his task. Was such. That it indicated. A level of power and authority that was necessary. To be writing in such a fashion. To a group of believers. This idea of authority and power vested in the role that he had is seen that his signature is on this letter. So therefore they would have been. An openness. And a willingness. To accept the content. And the teaching. And the challenges that may well be contained therein.
References to angels, Israel's history., would indicate. That the recipients of this letter. Would have been. Jewish. And background. And believers in the Lord Jesus Christ as Messiah.
The purpose of the Letter.
Jude's purpose behind the writing of the letter. Is to begin to deal with the problem of false teaching. That was found in the many of the Christian churches established at that period of time. Around the Roman Empi
These false teachings were known as Gnosticism, basically they were creating the view That the incarnation could not have happened in the way it happened because of the Philosophy of the day, which suggested that the Flesh was evil and the Spirit was good. Therefore, the good Spirit of God could not inhabit the evil make up of the flesh of humanity, so Jude had to deal with that problem.
Jude. In a very authoritive way. Remind the people. That they must reject. This teaching. 1.'Cause it is. On Christian. 2. Becauses. It creates. Wrong understanding. And wrong behaviour. He leaves the believers in no doubt. Now this teaching. Is false. It is. A total. Missed understanding of who God is. And what he can achieve. If he can create the universe, I'd have nothing. He can certainly take flesh and live amongst us.
