3 John

Introduction to 3 John

The Third Epistle of John, commonly referred to as 3 John, is one of the shortest books in the New Testament and is traditionally attributed to John the Apostle.
Addressed to Gaius, a beloved friend, this letter focuses on themes of hospitality, truth, and the proper conduct within the Christian community.
The writer commends Gaius for his faithfulness and generosity towards travelling missionaries, while also warning against the actions of Diotrephes, who has refused to welcome fellow believers. Despite its brevity, 3 John offers valuable insights into early church relationships and the importance of supporting one another in faith.
